Hello Bank Holiday Weekend

August Bank Holiday weekend is upon us - already! Whilst trying to ignore how quickly this month has gone we’ve summarised all the great things to do this weekend here on the gorgeous North Norfolk Coast.

Jazz and Oysters

This weekend sees the return of Jazz and Oysters at The Hoste Arms with music from Matt Hodges and Oysters from Thornham Oyster Co. The Hoste is opening up their suntrap of a walled courtyard for you to sit back and bask in sunshine and jazz whilst sipping champagne and eating Oysters. Open from 12-5pm Saturday & Sunday. Fun Fact: I never used to like oysters until I had them shucked by these guys and now I love them!

Creake Abbeys Summer Gift Market

Famous for its monthly farmers markets, every once in a while Creake Abbey puts on markets of a different kind and this Saturday is their hugely popular gift market. With over 60 stalls celebrating the artists of Norfolk from jewellery to textiles, from candles to dog treats it is the perfect place to go armed with a gift list of upcoming birthdays. There will be lots of food and drink on offer too, a very lovely, wholesome morning. Open from 10am - 4pm.

Aylsham Show

Who doesn’t love a country show! Celebrating its 75th year the Aylsham country show is on Monday 28th August with ‘fun, food and farming for all the family’. Taking place on the Blickling estate this is very much a farming first show showcasing the countryside and its magic, with horse and livestock competitions running throughout the day, discovery zones and lots of yummy food. Gates open at 8am.

Dino in the Dark

Due to bad weather earlier in the month Dino in the Dark at Rawwr is this saturday and although I am probably a bit old for a dinosaur theme park it sounds kind of fun! Are you (or your child!) brave enough to explore Valley of the Dinosaurs once the sun’s gone down, take on Predator High Ropes after dark, or handle creepy crawlies at our Animal Encounters.

There will be lots of street food options, interactive stalls and live music.
