Location, Location, Location: Burnham Market

Dubbed ‘Chelsea on Sea’, Burnham Market is breathtakingly picturesque. Almost every house is fresh out of a chocolate box, especially at this time of year with budding roses and hollyhock everywhere.

It is also a bit of a food lover's haven, the arguably tiny village has; a butchers, a bakers, a fish mongers, two delis, a wine shop, a couple of pubs and an award winning restaurant all within walking distance of each other.

Arthur Howells is basically a household name in Norfolk, their butchers supply many sausages for the sunday fry ups. They are a very knowledgeable team and are always happy to help choose the best cuts for your BBQ.

Gurneys Fish shop has been in Burnham Market for over 20 years and has seen many village changes, yet it holds true to its values, the freshest products of the highest quality are available every day. I can thoroughly recommend anything they have smoked! Above Gurneys is Humble Pie Delicatessen, think cheeses, think artisan coffee, think filling your store cupboards with products you thought you could only buy in fancy London shops - right there in Burnham!

If that wasn’t enough, The Tuscan Farm shop is seriously special, the wine, the olive oil, the bread, the meats, INSANE! It turns out they do it right in Tuscany and we must all follow their lead.

If you haven’t bought enjoy local products to cook for a week, the award winning Socius is just off the green and well worth a visit. The family run restaurant has only been open since 2018 but let me tell you, they have been making waves, they have a great ethos and have stayed true to their love of memorable food in a relaxed environment with delicious drinks ever since.

In short, if you love local products and can happily wind away an afternoon dipping in and out shops then Burnham Market is the place for you.
